Airports GIS (AGIS) Survey & Submittal

Survey and mapping deliverables to AGIS specification, scheduled backwards from your commissioning date.

Airports GIS is the FAA programme that moves airport data into a geospatial format supporting instrument procedures and airspace management. If you are doing federally funded survey work, this is where the data goes.

The lead time that catches sponsors out

FAA guidance asks that design data reach Airports GIS roughly two to three years before a project is completed, so instrument flight procedures can be developed in time for commissioning.

Read that again in scheduling terms: a survey commissioned when construction starts is already late. This is the single most common sequencing mistake we see, and it is expensive precisely because it is invisible until the end.

What this service is

We prepare survey and mapping deliverables to Airports GIS specification and manage the submission — geodetic control, data collection planning, quality control, and the documentation FAA expects alongside the data.

What you get

  • A submission schedule built backwards from your commissioning date, not forwards from today
  • Survey and mapping deliverables prepared to AGIS specification
  • Coordination through the submission process rather than a file handed over at the door
  • A clear statement of what is eligible for AIP participation and what is not

Capture methods

We use FAA-certificated drone capture and conventional ground survey together, chosen by what each feature actually requires. Remote sensing is an established route for airport survey work under FAA standards; it is not a shortcut, and it does not replace ground control where ground control is what the accuracy demands.
